Membership, Registration, Billing, Refunds and Event Policies

Please review these terms carefully. By applying for membership, registering for an event, attending a CFRI meeting, or participating in CFRI programs, you acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions listed below.

Membership and Guest Registration Waiver

Upon submitting this application, applicant acknowledges reading, understanding and adhering to the fact that publications, meetings, workshops, seminars, events and other programs produced, sponsored or promoted by Central Florida Realty Investors Association, Inc. (CFRI) are designed to provide the author’s or speaker’s opinion regarding the subject matter.

Such opinion is provided with the understanding that neither CFRI nor its individual authors, speakers, officers, directors, staff, volunteers or representatives are engaged in rendering legal, accounting, tax, investment or other professional services. If legal, tax, accounting or other expert assistance is required, the services of a competent professional should be sought.

Similarly, public recognition of merchants, vendors, speakers, sponsors, Business Members or others offering special discounts, services, programs or products to CFRI members shall not be construed as representing any form of warranty, endorsement or guarantee of such service, product, program, or member satisfaction therewith.

CFRI and its officers, directors, volunteers, staff, authors, speakers and representatives specifically disclaim any corporate or personal liability for any loss or risk as a consequence of the use or application, either directly or indirectly, of any service, product, advice, idea, concept, technique, form, document or information provided.

Applicant allows CFRI the use and distribution of the information provided on the membership application unless otherwise stated in writing, and agrees and acknowledges that:

  1. Applicant has received a copy of the CFRI Code of Ethics or has been provided access to this document. Current CFRI Members can click here to access the Code of Ethics.
  2. Applicant shall not become an official member of CFRI until the application has been approved by the Board of Directors.
  3. Within 30 days of submitting the application, applicants for a new annual General Membership have the unconditional right to request, in writing, to withdraw the application in the applicant’s sole and absolute discretion, whereupon the applicant’s dues shall be promptly refunded. This 30-day refund provision applies only to new annual General Memberships and does not apply to Monthly General Memberships or Business Memberships.
  4. At any time, the Board of Directors of CFRI has the unconditional right to vote not to accept the applicant as a member in its sole and absolute discretion, whereupon the applicant’s dues shall be promptly refunded to the applicant.
  5. At any time, the Board of Directors has the right to revoke or suspend an applicant’s or member’s membership.

Applicant agrees to abide by the CFRI Code of Ethics and Conduct, CFRI Bylaws, and all CFRI established Policies and Procedures. These documents are posted in the online library in the Members Area and on the bottom of each CFRI webpage.

Legislative and Lobbying Disclosure

Applicant acknowledges that effective January 1, 2009, eight dollars of each General Membership and eighteen dollars of each Business Membership shall be used by CFRI for lobbying and legislative related activities that are germane to the common business interests of the members of our association and in keeping with our Bylaws, Policies and IRS Codes. This portion of the membership dues cannot be deducted as a business expense by members.

Attention Business Membership Applicants

Prior to being approved as a Business Member, applicants must complete the State and/or Federal Licensing Information Form and provide CFRI with a copy of any applicable state or federal license.

At least one named representative from each new Business Membership is required to attend New Business Member Orientation before the Board can consider the application for membership.

Implied Consent

By providing your email address, phone number and/or cell number, you authorize CFRI to contact you via email, voice and text message for event reminders, membership communications, updates and special offers. Your contact information, including email, phone and cell phone, will never be sold, shared or released to a third party without your prior written consent.

Stop Text, Email or Voice Alerts

You may cancel text, email or voice alerts and communications at any time by calling the CFRI office and requesting to have the specific alerts or communications stopped. You may also update your communication preferences by logging into your account at www.CFRI.net/MyAccount/Default.aspx.

Recurring Billing Waiver

I authorize my membership to be renewed monthly, quarterly or annually, based on the membership selected, and authorize the appropriate charges, if any, to be applied to my credit card on file.

Should I wish to discontinue my membership, I understand that I must comply with Central Florida Realty Investors Association’s policy to send written notification via electronic or regular mail at least 3 days prior to the next recurring billing date.

Membership Refund Policy

Monthly General Memberships: Monthly General Memberships are not refundable under any circumstances. Monthly Memberships renew automatically based on the selected billing interval unless the member cancels prior to the next billing cycle. Monthly Memberships may be cancelled at any time without penalty.

General Memberships (Annual): Within 30 days of application, new General Members have the right to request a refund of their membership fees. This 30-day refund policy applies only to new annual General Memberships and does not apply to Monthly General Memberships or Business Memberships.

Business Memberships: Business Membership fees are not refundable unless the CFRI Board of Directors does not approve the Business Membership application.

Related Spouse / Business Members

If you purchased a membership with more than one person on it, please send the following information to CFRI through the Contact Us page:

  1. Contact’s name
  2. Contact’s mailing address
  3. Contact’s email address
  4. Contact’s phone number

Once this information has been received, the additional person or persons on your membership will receive an email with a password reset link. Each person should click on this link to continue setting up their profile.

Note: If you renewed a membership with more than one person on it, the affiliate members on your account should have automatically updated. However, it is a good idea to click on RELATED MEMBERS in your account to verify the information. If you encounter any problems or need to change a member, please contact the CFRI office through the Contact Us page or call 407-328-7773.

Pre-Pay Event Cancellation Policy

Unless otherwise noted in the Event Payment Details, as a general rule, refunds may be obtained provided that cancellations are received at least 7 days prior to the event. However, refunds for events are not guaranteed. Refunds depend upon the policies of third-party vendors and other factors.

By registering for an event, you understand that you may not receive a full refund should you need to withdraw. All cancellation and refund requests should be made to the CFRI Association Executive through the Contact Us page or by calling 407-328-7773.
