This Focus Group explores all aspects of landlording and property management.
- Picking the right properties for rentals - they need to cover their costs, ideally they should cash flow.
- The importance of the right location. If you want the right tenants, the house has to be where they would want to live. If not, you will have a problem with cash flow (see above).
- Maintenance issues - What is important to prioritize, finding the right handyman or contractor.
- Screening tenants - Where to get background information for free. What to pay for.
- When tenants don't pay - what are your options. Evictions and how to avoid them by picking the right tenant.
- Tenant retention - How to get great tenants to stay.
- How multi-family tenants differ from single family.
- Section 8 - is it worth it?
